Dear DCCC members and friends,
We are excited to present our latest newsletter, designed to keep you up-to-date with developments within the Chamber and the Danish-Canadian business ecosystem.
In this edition, we bring you the latest news, updates on our initiatives, and insights into key industry trends. Our mission is to enhance economic ties between Denmark and Canada, fostering business growth while upholding the values of sustainability and innovation.
Our friends at the Royal Danish Embassy in Ottawa and Danish Trade Council in Toronto have been quite busy, from welcoming representatives from the Danish Medicines Agency as they visited Toronto, Ottawa, and Montreal to gain insights into the Canadian regulatory system, to Denmark’s presence at the International Water Association (IWA) World Water Congress, where Danish Ambassador Frijs-Madsen delivered the opening speech at the Groundwater Forum and officially opened the Danish Pavilion. The event was a powerful reminder of Denmark’s leadership in sustainable groundwater management and the importance of global collaboration in securing sustainable water solutions.
At a recent meeting, Ambassador Frijs-Madsen welcomed Frank Des Rosiers, Assistant Deputy Minister of Natural Resources Canada (NRCan), and confirmed that both Canada and Denmark are committed to the Paris agreement and to promote the green energy transition. The Ambassador presented how Denmark is working to reach the 70% reduction target in 2030 through a number of initiatives and where Denmark recognizes the largest potential for cooperation on the green transition with Canada. Later in the year the Danish Embassy will head a public delegation to Denmark, where the focus will be energy transition and integration of renewables.
Last, but not least, we were very pleased to hear of the participation of five delegates from across Canada in the Tour de Health 2024 - “the conference facilitating between 14 countries with a focus on a multistakeholder approach to health". This 3 days-conference aimed to inspire and actively engage international delegates from 13 countries, to showcase Danish good practices in multi-stakeholder and sector collaborations, and to co-create context-based approaches to address the current healthcare challenges through partnerships. The results great learnings and key takeaways from both Danish and international perspectives, you can find more info here.
We hope you enjoy our newsletter. Don’t forget that our Annual Christmas Julefrokost 🇩🇰 is on Dec 10th ~ a dinner event (starting at 5 pm) and a new menu!.
