Denmark's Digital Healthcare of the Future
In the report Denmark’s Digitization Strategy, published by the Danish Ministry of Digitalization and Gender Equality, it is revealed that the government is allocating 800 million DKK over the coming four years to support digital development, including the digital healthcare of the future. The report outlines the focus on more effective communication and data sharing between sectors, as well as the use of health apps to increase quality of treatment, early disease detection, and better use of healthcare staff’s time. Novo Nordisk - Nova Scotia New Partnership
Nova Scotia has partnered with Novo Nordisk Canada to create the Nova Scotia Lighthouse project, an initiative that will address childhood obesity and chronic disease in the province. The Nova Scotia Lighthouse project will bring together healthcare, academic and economic leaders to identify barriers and challenges that contribute to poor health outcomes. Business, academia and community organizations will be invited to submit proposals to address them. Read more here.

Stakeholder debrief of the 6th Annual Meeting of the Regulatory Cooperation Forum (RCF) – EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA)
Established under the Canada-European Union (EU) Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement, the RCF facilitates and promotes regulatory cooperation between Canada and the EU. Following this meeting, on Thursday 25 April 2024, the Canadian and EU Co-chairs will provide a debrief to stakeholders on all active work plan items and items of interest.
Date: Thursday 25 April 2024. Time: 9:30 am-11:00 am (Ottawa)
Location: Hybrid meeting, with two options to participate: In-person, in Ottawa; Virtually.

The spring Food Fair webshop is open - Preorder Danish candy and food now!
The Danish Church's online bazaar is open again, and is ready to take your orders on Danish Candy and food. The goods are on their way from Denmark and will be in Toronto for the Spring Food Fair on May 4th, or they will shipped all over Canada around that day. Find the bazaar here.
Royal Dinner at the Danish Lutheran Church
Saturday April 20 at 6:00 pm in the Royal Hall.
This is an important annual fundraising dinner for the self-funded church. Tickets are $50 and a portion of that qualifies for a charitable tax receipt. There will be a raffle and other entertainment and an opportunity to meet Danes and Danish-minded folks from across the region. More info here.
Danish Heritage Seminar
This year’s Danish Heritage Seminar is an educational, inspiring and fun-filled course which explores Danish fingerprints in Canada through Danish settlements, clubs, museums, churches, businesses, celebrations, customs and the arts. The Seminar will be led by Simon Kangas Larsen, former Pastor at the Danish Lutheran Church in Toronto. May 27-31, Niagara Falls, more info here.
43rd Annual Conference of the Federation of Danish Associations in Canada ~ Toronto Beckons!
With the theme of The Meeting Place, the Danish Lutheran Church Toronto will host this conference and welcome the Federation to our city and Forsamlingshus, showing you how we gather and share in the spirit of our Danish culture and heritage here in our church. May 23-26. More info here.
On the last night of the conference (Saturday May 25) there will be a dinner & live 1960’s dance music at the Novotel in North York!
